Inside out
Coloured all sorts
Door, steps, street
The entrance a silent noise a motion picture
An urban institution upper lip stubborn to the core
Open close questioning, authority
The civil servant blank and plain
Looming eyes blink unloving Drawbridge firmly closed
As if standing guard to attention
Secret knock, a ring
Its guardian sniggering the inconvenience
The great divide separates understanding, feelings
Between worlds
Dark and light sanities edge
Its holy place home closed locked within
Behind a great beyond
Gateway to a path between realities
Over the threshold, revelation promised
Life and death leak through the cracks
The battle cries muffled
From within the traffic just a rumble and drone
Boxed treasured memories
Sounds of thoughts
Quite echoes of presence linger shut inside
Waiting to burst out
Shedding light in the dark
The entrance exit the frontier or Pandora's box
Hope as the ravens fly
The doors left open a jar
The guardian laughs
Grinning its glee
Welcome and goodbye
